About SkilledSearch Academy

Engineered in Sri Lanka.
Built for the global stage.

We’re a practical training academy on a mission to turn Sri Lanka’s brightest engineering talent into the industry-ready professionals the world is looking for.

Our story

Talent was never the problem. The pathway was.

Why a recruiting consultancy decided to start an engineering academy.

We came to this from the recruiting side of the table.

For years, our team has been deep in Sri Lanka’s engineering market, placing graduates into roles, mentoring early-career engineers, and consulting with employers across automation, manufacturing, and industrial services. Two patterns came up over and over.

The first: Sri Lankan engineering talent is world-class. The fundamentals, the work ethic, the ability to learn fast under pressure. All of it.

The second: too much of that talent never makes it onto a factory floor that matches its potential. The gap isn’t intelligence or qualifications. It’s the bridge between what universities teach and what global employers actually need from a hireable engineer on day one.

SkilledSearch Academy is our answer to that gap. We built the academy to take the talent we already see every day, pair it with practical, industry-led training, and graduate engineers who can compete anywhere: in Colombo, in the Gulf, in Europe, wherever there’s a control panel and a problem to solve.

Vision

A Sri Lanka recognised globally as a source of practical, industry-ready engineering talent.

We’re working toward a future where “Sri Lankan engineer” is shorthand for ready, capable, and competitive in any factory, control room, or automation team in the world.

Mission

Close the gap between a qualification and a career.

We deliver cohort-based, mentor-led training in industrial automation and engineering, built around real projects, real industry partners, and outcomes we can measure.

  • 01
Taught by practitioners. Every cohort is led by industry-active engineers, not just academics, so the skills you learn match what employers are hiring for right now.
  • 02
Built around real projects. Students leave with a portfolio of completed, reviewed work. Proof of capability that goes beyond a certificate.
  • 03
Benchmarked to global standards. Programme outcomes are tied to the technical and professional benchmarks employers actually hire on, in Sri Lanka and abroad.
Our team

The people behind the academy.
